Administrative Relationship

Directly responsible to the building principal.

Major Duties And Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and services for handicapped students who have been identified in an Individualized Education Program and are assigned to a special day class.
• Attend placement/IEP meetings for students who may need the program services of a special day class.
• Participate in academic testing.
• Coordinate special education services with the regular school programs to provide students’ mainstreaming opportunities.
• Monitor student’s progress, coordinate the review and revision of their Individualized Education Programs, and refer students to the IEP team if appropriate.
