Hours: 38 hours per week

Make an impact leading hands-on apple rootstock breeding across orchards, glasshouses and laboratory settings.

Gain concentrated, practical experience working alongside senior scientists in a nationally significant breeding programme.

Build diverse technical skills in plant breeding, data management, trials and pathology.

Make and manage breeding crosses, raising and maintaining apple rootstock plant populations.

Contribute to field, glasshouse and laboratory trials, including setup, implementation and data collection .

Harvest and evaluate fruit, supporting selection decisions and cultivar assessment .
