Mission or Goal of Unit: The Department of Anesthesiology is committed to delivering the best possible anesthetic and critical care to our patients, to advancing research and quality improvement in anesthesiology and perioperative medicine and training the next generation of anesthesiologists through our residency and fellowship programs along with medical student teaching.

Chief Purpose of this position: We are seeking candidates to provide care to patients at VCU Health as assigned by the Department Chair or Chair's delegate. This includes preanesthetic evaluation, intraoperative anesthetic care, postoperative rounds, resuscitation and intensive care, therapeutic/diagnostic nerve blocks, and consultation in cases of chronic pain. Directs the activities of nurse anesthetists as assigned by Chair or Chair's delegate.
