Job Description

The New York City Department of Transportation Division of Traffic Operations is seeking an Assistant Commissioner (A/C) of Parking Operations to provide strategic direction for New York City’s metered parking environment and authorized permit issuance. The A/C will serve as a critical member of the Traffic Operations leadership team, reporting directly to the Deputy Commissioner, and will oversee the operation, maintenance, and program management of approximately 14,000 meters (80,000+ on-street spaces), the Park NYC mobile app, and 38+ off-street parking facilities, as well as oversight of the issuance of several permit types, including the Parking Permit for People with Disabilities (PPPD). The A/C manages a diverse workforce of 300+ employees, an annual revenue exceeding $250 million, and critical assets including garages, meters, database systems, security-related business products, and a specialized vehicle fleet.
