Assistant Manager, Technical

We are representing our client (An established IT technology provider) to look for an experienced Assistant Technical Manager to lead technical delivery across the full engineering lifecycle from discovery and architecture through to production operations, while coaching client engineering teams to build lasting capability. This is a consultancy role

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery and architecture design for greenfield and legacy modernisation - microservices, event-driven, API-first, strangler patterns.
• Champion quality engineering: comprehensive test strategy, code review, pair programming, TDD, refactoring, and technical debt management.
• Build production-quality applications with strong test coverage deploy on modern cloud platforms with CI/CD and infrastructure as code.
• Define API contracts and integration patterns run spike solutions and POCs to de-risk architecture decisions before full build.
