Job Description

The Carthage College Biology Department seeks an 11-month Biology Lab Manager/Instructor to support the operational and regulatory success of the Biology Department. Responsibilities of this role include the management of Biology laboratory spaces, department-level regulatory compliance, purchasing, and supervision of student laboratory assistants. Responsibilities:

  • Biology Regulatory Compliance: Oversee departmental compliance for biology-specific biological and chemical hazards, ensuring adherence to OSHA, EPA, and DNR standards for teaching and research labs.
  • Safety Liaison: Collaborate with Facilities Management to ensure departmental alignment with campus-wide chemical hygiene and waste disposal protocols.
