Civil Service Title- Assistant Civil Engineer

Serves as Assistant Civil Engineer in the Bridge Management Section of the Bureau of Bridge Maintenance, Inspection and Operations, Division of Bridges. The Division is responsible for maintaining the safety, reliability, and long-term serviceability of New York City's bridge infrastructure. Within the Division, Bridge Management plays a central role connecting inspection findings, load rating results, asset inventory data, deterioration modeling, and capital planning to identify structures requiring rehabilitation, replacement, posting, restrictions, or inclusion in future capital programs.

The selected candidate, under supervision, will perform complex analysis of bridge load rating calculations in accordance with load rating policies, procedures and Federal and State load rating directives.
