About the Role

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all NewZealanders. This full‑time, 1.0FTE fixed‑term position (9months) requires a senior Health Promoter to raise awareness and participation in the free National Bowel Screening Programme in the Taupō/Tūrangi region, with a focus on Māori and Pacific communities.

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement promotional activities to increase participation of eligible people, especially Māori & Pacific residents aged 58‑74.
  • Complete targeted outreach phone calls and text messages with participants.
  • Attend or coordinate workshops on marae, in community settings or workplaces to encourage completion of screening test kits.
