In this course, the principles of biochemistry are introduced with a chemical emphasis.
Topics Covered
the chemistry of water and biologically relevant aqueous solutions; structure of biomolecules and biopolymers (amino acids, peptides and proteins, nucleotides, DNA and RNA, carbohydrates and polysaccharides, lipids and biomembranes); introduction to enzymes and coenzymes.
