Job Description

 Seeking a full-time Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant in north-central IA, for Medical Center named one of the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals and Top 100 Cardiovascular Hospitals. 

 
Highlights:
 
 Current staffing is 1 Physician, 3 PAs, and 1 Nurse 
 Mix of Inpt/Outpt, clinic and surgery 
 Call 1:3 - Call is currently for emergency surgeries only (approx. 10 per year) 
 Required: 1-2 Years of experience in CT surgery assist with >50 endoscopic vein harvests using the maquet system 
 
General Summary: 
 Assists in performing surgical procedures such as suturing skin, placing monitoring catheters and pacing wires, and other related duties as directed by surgeon 
 Ensures patient is prepared for surgery by conducting compete physical examinations and patient histories, ordering necessary support hose, and having angiogram films in the operating room
