Centralized Patient Transport Trainer

Job Summary:
Responsible for effectively training new team members and provides any necessary re-training. Ensures Departmental orientation checklist is complete for each new Transport team member and completes assessments. Works closely with Transport leadership team on departmental metrics. Transport patients and visitors via the selected mode of travel, to and from clinical, ancillary and support department areas as directed by the PTR while observing all safety regulations. Assist clinical personnel in transferring patients according to safe patient handling guidelines to and/or from beds, wheelchairs and/or stretchers. Prepares patient transport equipment for patient use by cleaning surfaces and changing linens, and cleans all equipment after use. Verifies patient name, medical record number, date of birth, destination and mode of travel.
