Job Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working as part of the Child, Youth and Family Program, the successful candidate will work as a part of the Youth Crisis Intervention Team (YCIT). The CYC will work primarily in the emergency department in a consult role, assessing youth, up to transitional age (25 years old), who present to the emergency department with a mental health and/or addictions related issue. As a Youth Crisis staff, the CYC is responsible for completing a trauma-informed crisis assessment including (but not limited to); stressors, risks, signs and symptoms of illness, functioning, strengths and supports, to formulate, in collaboration with the patient, family and physician, a disposition and recommendations for care. This may include safety planning, collaboration with community supports, or referrals.
