The Buckinghamshire Integrated Respiratory Service (BIRS) provides comprehensive respiratory care across community, home, and hospital settings, alongside specialist support to primary care and acute clinicians.
The role includes responsibility for the assessment and management of patients with conditions such as COPD and interstitial lung disease (ILD), as well as contributing to key services including home oxygen assessment and review, and pulmonary rehabilitation.
The post holder will also support service development across primary care, including the delivery of multidisciplinary team (MDT) clinics and spirometry services. Additionally, they will contribute to the consultant in-reach service in acute areas (A&E and AMU) at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, helping to enable safe and timely patient discharges.
