About the Role
Whangārei Hospital has 8 operating theatres, a procedure room co‑located in the operating theatre suite, and a 2‑room endoscopy suite. It provides the majority of the surgical services for Northland, including a wide range of surgical sub‑specialties and all emergency surgery for the region. The case‑mix is varied and challenging, with a high volume of complex planned surgery as well as a busy trauma service.
The Department of Anaesthesia is the largest department within the Surgical Service in Northland, providing a 24/7 service to Whangārei Hospital and the planned surgery delivered at Kaitaia Hospital.
