Job Description
DUTIES
& RESPONSIBILITIES- Reviews third party resources used in Open Learning distance and online courses and by campus faculty in their courses in order to obtain licenses and permissions.
- Negotiates terms of licenses and permissions with publishers, authors, artists, web-site administrators and other creators of educational resources to confirm terms of use of third party materials within course content.
- Prepares payment requests and carries out financial transactions related to obtaining licenses.
- Updates departmental databases to reflect clearance status of third party resources used in course content.
- Supports compliance with policies and guidelines related to third party material use by a Canadian post-secondary institution.
- Uses discretion as to when a matter should be escalated to the Supervisor of Editing and Copyright.
