About the role
 | Mō te tūrangaThe Counsellor works closely with Learner Advisors, academic staff, and student support services to provide integrated, holistic care. You will support learners experiencing a wide range of concerns, including stress, anxiety, adjustment to study, identity and belonging, grief and loss, relationship challenges, and barriers impacting learning.

Key responsibilities | Ngā kawenga matua
Provide short- to medium-term counselling to learners using evidence-based and culturally responsive approaches
Deliver one-to-one clinical sessions, with scope for group-based or psychoeducational sessions where appropriate
Undertake assessment, formulation, goal setting, and intervention planning
Support learners to develop coping strategies, resilience, and self-awareness within a tertiary study context
