Anishnawbe Health Toronto (AHT) is a fully accredited community health centre in Toronto that was founded to provide a comprehensive, culturally grounded approach to health care for the Aboriginal community. Rooted in the vision of Elder Joe Sylvester, AHT places Traditional Aboriginal practices and approaches at the core of its model of care. Clients have access to multidisciplinary health care practitioners, including Traditional Healers, Elders, and Medicine People, as well as ancient ceremonies and traditions. The organization has expanded its services over time, including programs that support individuals seeking to exit homelessness and training opportunities in a culture-based setting. Through its Mission, Vision, Beliefs, and Principles, AHT continues to honor the original goal of creating a holistic healing centre for the Aboriginal community in Toronto.
