A practitioner with a level of knowledge, skills, experience in dietetics practice necessary to be an advanced Registered Dietitian professional, demonstrating consistent excellence and empowering others to grow and improve their skills; informal leader.The Registered Dietitian's primary responsibilities include direct patient care through application of the Nutrition Care Process (NCP) including the completion of the nutrition assessment, determination of the nutrition diagnosis, developing nutrition focused, evidence based interventions (including the nutrition prescription, example: diet/feeding order) and nutrition monitoring and evaluation; and provides nutrition counseling and education for both inpatient and outpatient populations.The advanced RD is highly skilled in multiple elements, such as, expertise in a variety of patient care areas or an expert in a high acuity care area; communication skills; and confidence in advocating for patients and nutrition th...
