Works under an assigned fire station Lieutenant to support both Fire Suppression and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Operations in medical situations. Administers medical treatment in response to patient's medical condition. Implements property orders and protocols when transporting patient using ambulance. Communicates with medical personnel at the hospital regarding medical treatment and/or condition of the patient. Educates the public on fire safety, prevention, and hazard mitigation. Promotes and supports public safety initiatives such as smoke detector programs, prevention education in schools, and commercial pre-incident planning. Handles emergency call and drives ambulance to transport patients to hospitals or medical facilities. Listens for alarm and details of radio message received from alarm office.
