The NYC Department of Buildings is responsible for ensuring the safe and lawful use of buildings and properties by enforcing the NYC Construction Codes, Energy Code and Zoning Resolution. The Cranes and Derricks (C&D) unit’s missions is to ensure that crane and hoisting work in New York City is performed safely as per manufacturer recommendations and best industry practices while maintaining the requirements of the NYC Construction Codes.
