Environmental Health & Safety Specialist II

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Environmental Health & Safety Specialist II.

The successful candidate with minimal supervision manages assigned health and safety programs, and assists in developing, reviewing, and improving them. The EH&S Specialist II provides support for health and safety programs managed by others within the department.

Job Responsibilities:

MANAGES EXPENSES AND BUDGETS: A. Prepares annual budget for areas of responsibility. B. Provides supervisor with justification for proposed expenditures. C. Advises supervisor of issues/concerns promptly. Obtains authorization from supervisor as appropriate. D. Obtains proposals from vendors. E. Promptly approves and processes invoices. F. Follows up on invoice issues as appropriate.

PROVIDES SUPPORT FOR DEPARTMENTAL PROGRAMS: A. Is available on-call on a rotating basis to respond to health and safety emergencies involving NYU Langone facilities or employees. B...
