Job Description
About the role:
As Environmental Monitoring Officer you will be contributing to our Groundwater Quality, River Water Quality and Ecology and Lake Water Quality and Ecology State of the Environment (SoE) Programmes. Field work will largely be based in the Wellington City, the Kāpiti Coast and the Hutt Valley, but you will have the opportunity to travel around the region and monitor some of our most remote and pristine sites.
The principal areas of work will be collecting water quality samples from groundwater bores, rivers and lakes throughout the Wellington region, including the deployment and maintenance of continuous instruments, and associated data management, data analysis and report writing. The information you collect will help inform planning, policy development, and compliance activities across the region.
