Expert Substation Design Engineer Calgary

Drive innovative substation designs at AltaLink as a Substation Design Engineer based in Calgary. Focus on 25kV to 500kV projects in a full-time permanent role.
Reporting to the Manager of Substations Engineering, the Substation Design Engineer will create engineering designs for Capital Replacement & Upgrade (CR&U) and customer-driven Direct Assign projects. You will apply your knowledge of Protection & Control, SCADA, Telecommunications, and Lines to produce compliant and efficient designs for a range of substation projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create detailed engineering scope documents and designs
• Design electrical substation facilities, including layouts
• Prepare accurate cost and time estimates for projects
• Provide technical support during construction phases
• Review external contractor designs for compliance
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
• 4+ years of substation design experience
