Field Service Engineer - Automation - International - Home Based - Permanent - £50k base salary + overseas uplift + overtime (£70-75k OTE)
Samuel Frank is recruiting for a Field Service Engineer to support the commissioning, servicing and maintenance of automated systems across Europe and beyond. The successful Field Service Engineer will be a hands‑on, versatile engineer with a blend of electrical, controls and mechanical skills rather than a pure controls specialist.
Key aspects of the Field Service Engineer role include
- Electrical and PLC commissioning using Siemens PLCs
- Ideally have knowledge of conveyors, material handing or baggage handling equipment
- PLC fault‑finding on live systems (rather than full software development)
- Planned service and maintenance visits to existing sites
- Minor mechanical works including tracking belts, conveyor repairs, replacing brackets etc.
