First Cook-Food Service Food Production-Mount Sinai West-Part Time, 7am to 3pm, Weekends and Holidays


The First Cook prepares high quality foods for patients and non-patient services


Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates the ability to perform clinical/technical/service/administrative tasks
  • Prepares high quality foods for patient and non-patient services.
  • Ensures that all equipment used for handling and preparation of food is functioning properly. Reports malfunctions to Supervisor/ chef manager
  • Maintains and verifies full compliance with OHSM/HACCP standards.
  • Coordinates the development of new menu items with the Chef Manager.
  • Utilizes advanced culinary skills to prepare specialty items according to established recipes.
  • Oversees and performs (when necessary) equipment sanitizing according to departmental and HACCP regulations.
  • Assists in the testing of all new recipes.
