Foreign Service Officer (Political & Economic)

Foreign Service Officers (FSOs) serve as Singapore’s diplomats to safeguard and protect our fellow countrymen and advance Singapore’s interests abroad. FSOs alternate between deployments to MFA HQ and to any of our over 50 embassies, high commissions and consulates worldwide. Applicants may pursue a career with MFA as an FSO on either the Political & Economic track or the Functional & Corporate track.

• Analysing and reporting on global developments in real time, and interpreting their implications on Singapore’s strategic interests
• Providing assessments that shape Singapore’s foreign policy decisions
• Promoting positive bilateral/multilateral relations through high‑level visits and exchanges
