Job Description
Forest Planner – Sundre Woodlands
Reporting to the Planning Superintendent, the Forest Planner will work individually and with a team of professionals responsible for all aspects of forest planning.
Responsibilities
- Develop harvest and road plans considering steep slope topography and incorporating tether harvest systems.
- Align design and layout with the approved Forest Management Plan and DFO regulations.
- Contract management, contractor supervision, and coordination of road and block layout.
- Consult stakeholders individually with interest groups, as well as through open houses and interaction with the public involvement group.
- Liaise with government officials, prepare and submit digital data to provided standards.
- Participate in optimizing data workflow efficiencies.
- Perform 75%+ office work to address GIS intensive work requirements.
