Freelance Reporters Register Spectator Newspapers

Spectator Newspaper is seeking experienced and motivated freelance reporters to join a new register of contributors working across our three respected weekly titles the County Down Spectator, Newtownards Chronicle and Mourne Observer.

This freelance panel will support our existing editorial teams by providing high-quality local news, features, community coverage and breaking stories across County Down and surrounding areas.

We are looking for journalists with strong news instincts, excellent writing skills and the ability to work independently to tight deadlines. Successful applicants will be expected to source stories, conduct interviews, attend events and produce accurate, engaging copy suitable for print and digital publication.
