General Accountant

JOB SUMMARY

The General Accountant oversees the day-to-day operations of the accounting team and ensures accurate, timely, and compliant financial records. The role requires strong leadership, technical accounting competence, working knowledge of Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS), and mastery of tax regulations under the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR). The supervisor is responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial data, maintaining internal controls, and supporting statutory and management reporting requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review and validate general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and proper classification.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes and ensure adherence to deadlines.
• Review and ensure timely filing of BIR returns (VAT, withholding taxes, income tax, etc.) in compliance with the Tax Code and BIR regulations.
