Essential Job Duties Serve as the CAENS liaison to the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) for all pre-award sponsored programs activities. Coordinate and manage proposal development and submission processes, including timelines, document assembly, internal routing, and final submission. Assist faculty in identifying funding opportunities, interpreting funding announcements, and determining eligibility. Develop, review, and revise grant and contract budgets and budget justifications in accordance with sponsor and institutional requirements. Ensure compliance with federal, state, sponsor, and university regulations, including Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200). Prepare and process subrecipient commitment forms, cost-share documentation, and other required pre-award materials. Review expenditure-related documentation for allowability, allocability, and compliance. Provide training and technical assistance to faculty and staff on proposals, budgets, requisitions, and check request processes. Maintain internal tracking systems for proposals, deadlines, and award statuses. Work collaboratively with faculty, department leadership, OSP, finance, and external partners. Assist with audit preparation and responses related to sponsored programs. Promote and uphold the University’s core values and ensures ethical and compliant grants administration practices. This position does require weekend and after-work hours during peak season.

Position Title Grant Administrator for Land-Grant Programs I,II,III Status Job Summary The Grants Administrator for Land-Grant Programs serves as a key professional staff member responsible for managing pre-award research administration and financial proposal development activities for USDA and other sponsored programs within CAENS. This position serves as the primary departmental liaison to the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) and provides comprehensive support to faculty throughout the full lifecycle of sponsored funding. This position coordinates proposal development, budget preparation, compliance review, and submission processes, ensuring adherence to sponsor guidelines, institutional policies, and federal regulations, including the Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200). The role also provides training and guidance to faculty and staff and supports the administrative, financial, and operational coordination of land grant sponsored programs.
