Grounds Maintenance Operative

13 months contract with a Local Authority Job Title: Grounds Maintenance Operative Job Purpose To maintain parks, open spaces, sports facilities, and public areas through grounds maintenance, horticultural, and environmental services, ensuring a safe, clean, and attractive environment for the community. Key Responsibilities Carry out ground maintenance, landscaping, planting, and horticultural work. Maintain sports pitches, fine turf areas, and public open spaces. Conduct litter picking, weed removal, sweeping, and graffiti removal. Inspect and maintain play areas, reporting defects and hazards. Operate grounds maintenance equipment including mowers, strimmers, hedge cutters, and leaf blowers. Drive vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes and carry out vehicle/equipment safety checks.
