Unit Summary
Located at the Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre, wards EF4 consist of two in-patient units (Surgery & Surgical Oncology and Medicine & Surgery). These units care for oncology patients undergoing surgical interventions for diagnostic, treatment, and palliative purposes as well as patients undergoing general surgery, colorectal, hepatobiliary, plastics, urology, and gynecology.
Both units utilize a patient & family-centered, evidence based approach to care and are frequently recognized for their positive impact on patient experience. EF4 is known for integrating interventions to reduce the incidence of hospital harm indicators such as Sepsis, Central Line Associated Bloodstream Infections, Surgical Site Infections, and Catheter Associated Urinary Tract Infections.
