Job Description

Overview

We are inviting registered mental health professionals to join our primary care behavioural health workforce. In this role you will empower people to reach their health and wellbeing goals using brief interventions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing brief psychological interventions, particularly Focused Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (FACT), to patients and delivering evidence‑based group programmes.
  • Consulting, educating and advising other members of the general practice team as a new clinician type.
  • Supporting local population health by developing intervention pathways with GPs and nurses, aligned with clinic needs.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Fully registered mental health professional (psychologist, psychotherapist, mental health nurse, social worker, occupational therapist, DAPAANZ registered counsellor or NZAC counsellor) with full membership and Te Whatu Ora accreditation.
