HEALTHCARE ASSISTANT, OPERATION THEATRE

Responsibilities

• Understand and carry out nursing care in line with Vision and Mission Statements, Philosophy, Goals and Objectives that suit the scope of the Nursing Services.
• Understand the service organization structure.
• Inform Nurse-In-Charge or Operation Manager when changes occur in circumstances that affect standards of care.
• Attend meetings held by the services to discuss issues and matters pertaining to the operation of the service.
• Daily routine: Make and tidy patients’ beds; change linen when necessary; clean and disinfect beds and equipment; tidy patient’s bedside lockers, cardiac tables, chairs and surrounding areas; maintain cleanliness of the unit, pantry, treatment room, utility and linen room; collect, clean and fill hot water flasks for patients; dispatch items such as charge tickets, CSSS items, specimens, etc. to relevant services.
