Job Description

Alabama State University, College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, Department of History and Political Science invites applications to fill the full-time tenure track Associate or Full Professor of History position. The selected applicant will teach core World History courses, African and African-American History, Women's History, and History of the Global South. Candidate should demonstrate the potential for excellence in teaching, scholarly research, and service to the community.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and teach undergraduate level courses
  • Ensure that Student Learning Outcomes and Departmental Mission is articulated across all courses taught
  • Advise students in the history discipline, majors/minors
  • Engage in, produce, publish, and present findings of research related to history or the applicants area of specialization at professional conferences
  • Serve on departmental, college, and university committees
