Overview
The Histotechnologist performs procedures in the Histology department according to established protocols and standard operating procedures. The Histotechnologist is required to follow all quality control and quality assurance guidelines established in the department to include accurate performance, review and documentation. The Histotechnologist is responsible for preparing and maintaining all equipment within their daily workflow including preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and documentation. The position maintains adequate stock and efficient use of supplies for all duties including supply inventory and supply request. The Histotechnologist will perform required activities (including Proficiency Testing) and complete appropriate documentation to meet regulatory requirement to ensure department is maintaining accreditation with all regulatory agencies.
