Job Description
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
+ Maintains a high-quality ice surface by operating and maintaining equipment such as the Zamboni machine, preparing the ice for various activities, and conducting routine ice cuts throughout shifts
+ Supervises student ice crew and rink staff during evenings, weekends, and special events
+ Conducts general rink maintenance and upkeep, including maintaining dashers, glass, and team bench areas, as well as repairing and maintaining the Zamboni machine
+ Coordinates and facilitates daily ice rentals for both RIT and non-RIT individuals and groups, ensuring smooth operations and customer satisfaction
+ Supports the skate rental booth operations, including cash handling, end-of-shift cash deposits, supervising student employees, and assisting customers with skate rentals and returns
+ Performs skate sharpening and repairs to ensure customer needs are met and equipment remains in good condition
