Inpatient Pharmacy Technician

Job Summary:

Following established policies and procedures, under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, prepares and distributes medication and performs functions essential to the operations of the pharmacy department. Oversees training of new technician staff. Functions within the guidelines of the Wisconsin Statutes and Administrative Code - Pharmacy Examining Board - Pharmacy Practice Sections. Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:

A minimum of 1 year of work experience in a hospital pharmacy department is preferred. For decentralized technicians - a minimum of 1 year of work experience in an outpatient/community pharmacy is preferred.

High School diploma or equivalent is required. Graduate of a Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant program or equivalent work experience is preferred.
