Duties and Responsibilities

The Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS) is an intergovernmental treaty, under the aegis of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), concerned with the conservation of wildlife and habitats on a global scale. The CMS Office – Abu Dhabi coordinates the implementation of two CMS instruments:

  • The Memorandum of Understanding on the Conservation and Management of Dugongs and their Habitats throughout their Range (Dugong MOU)
  • The Memorandum of Understanding on the Conservation of Migratory Birds of Prey in Africa and Eurasia (Raptors MOU)

Please note that these internship opportunities are UNPAID. The internship provides hands‑on experience in international environmental cooperation, with a focus on data management, reporting, and digital tools.
