Junior Research Scientist in Center for Translational Medical Devices (CENTMED) - Dr. Rafael Song

The Center for Translational Medical Devices (CENTMED) at New York University Abu Dhabi seeks to recruit a Junior Research Scientist to join this new initiative, which focuses on designing and developing novel medical devices for ultimate human use.

The successful applicant will join a project to develop a glaucoma implant. This project entails computational modeling, implant design and manufacturing, optimization, and preclinical experiments using an animal model. The candidate will be working closely with a team of ophthalmologists.

Applicants must have a BS in an engineering or biomedical-related discipline, with an experience in a laboratory setting, and an ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team; with strong organization, communication, problem-solving and time management skills. High proficiency in English is required. Excellent computational modeling skills using ANSYS and COMSOL are strongly preferred.
