Job Description
The Tissue Registry Clerk is responsible for performing various clerical and processing duties, including the filing of tissue (both fresh and formalin fixed), glass slides, and paraffin blocks. Additional responsibilities include maintaining supply inventory, stocking, receiving shipments, and cleaning. The role involves working with computer information systems daily and requires the handling of fresh and formalin fixed tissue, organs, and amputations for archival purposes. Attention to detail and adherence to strict safety requirements for handling hazardous chemicals and infectious agents are essential.
Responsibilities

+ Retrieve pathology glass slides from file drawers, count and document the number of slides pulled, place them in trays, and maintain organization.

+ Document volumes in a spreadsheet.

+ Refile slides in original drawers after digital scanning and update documents.
