Job Description

As a Learning Support Assistant (LSA), you will work alongside teachers and SEN staff to provide targeted support during lessons and interventions, either on a one-to-one basis or in small groups.

Secondary schools in Sunderland are seeking a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support pupils with additional learning needs across Key Stages 3 and 4. This Learning Support Assistant (LSA) role focuses on helping students access learning within mainstream secondary classrooms.

Key responsibilities:


  • Supporting pupils with additional learning needs within lessons
  • Delivering small-group or individual interventions
  • Assisting with agreed support strategies and learning plans
  • Working closely with teaching and SEND teams
