About This Role:

Extension agents are professional educators who serve as a link between Kansas State University and communities across Kansas.

Leavenworth County is located northwest of the Kansas City metro area. It has a population of approximately 80,000 with both urban and rural communities.

The current extension office staff consists of three agents and two office professionals.

This agent will lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of research-based educational programming related to agriculture and natural resources. Programming may include but is not limited to: agronomy; livestock production; agricultural economics, management, and public policy; horticultural production and management; and natural resources conservation and environmental stewardship.

Agricultural programming in Leavenworth County will focus heavily on small-acreage farms, horticulture, and youth livestock production.
