Job Description

The Acquisitions and Cataloging department at the Syracuse University Libraries is searching for a Library Technician. This position is primarily responsible for the tasks supporting the purchase of library collections materials, including but not limited to books, videos, films, other audio-visual materials, journals and databases in all formats.

Individuals in this position will work with Libraries’ staff within and external to the acquisitions & cataloging department to research materials, finding identifying information, publishers and vendors to purchase/subscribe/license materials from.

Under general guidance, utilizes a specialized knowledge of subjects, computer applications, or disciplines that apply to library processes and/or services or provides specialized knowledge of library functions.
