Job Description

Operation Wallacea is a conservation research organisation working across a range of countries and ecosystems worldwide, who design and implement biodiversity and conservation management research programmes.

We are currently recruiting for a volunteer Mammal Surveyor to work at our UK site based at the Knepp Estate in West Sussex. Positions will ideally be for 3 weeks or more, on dates between 14th June and 25th July.

The position will involve carrying out surveys as part of a large-scale monitoring programme across the rewilding site.

Applicants should have extensive field survey experience, including camera trapping, small‑mammal trapping, and DISTANCE transect sampling. You will be working as part of a larger staff team to deliver field courses to people looking to get a head start in ecology and conservation, so any previous teaching experience is valuable.
