Job Description
Discuss the client’s medical history, symptoms, and goals. Perform range of motion and muscle tests.
Develop treatment plans: Propose treatments to address the client’s pain or other concerns.
Manipulate muscles and soft tissue: Use hands, fingers, and arms to knead and massage muscles, tendons, and ligaments.
Improve range of motion: Use joint mobilization techniques to increase range of motion.
Provide guidance: Offer advice on stretching, strengthening, and relaxation.
Document progress: Keep records of treatments and the client’s condition.
Refer clients to other professionals: When needed, refer clients to other health care professionals like chiropractors, physiotherapists, or physicians.
Educational Requirements
Graduate from an approved massage therapy program.
Have a high school diploma or GED.
