Job Description
Elevate the mental well-being of First Nations youth as a Mental Health Champion with Keewatin-Patricia District School Board. In this full-time role, you will provide mentorship and crisis intervention support.
As part of the Rapid Response Northern School Team, you will assist students from K-12 within KPDSB's Board Catchment Area. This position requires a college diploma in counseling or mental health and at least one year of experience in a related field. Key responsibilities include providing academic and mental health support and engaging in community crisis response to enhance the emotional health of students.
Key Responsibilities
- Mentor and advise First Nations students and staff
- Provide individual and group mental health interventions
- Support attendance and well-being initiatives
- Engage in crisis intervention programs
- Travel to remote and local community schools as needed
