METEOROLOGIST (W/END) - WOWT

Job Summary/Description:

WOWT in Omaha, NE, is seeking an experienced Meteorologist to join our First Alert Weather team. The Meteorologist will work closely with the Chief Meteorologists, news managers, and producers to cover comprehensive weather coverage on multiple platforms, and especially during severe weather. The Meteorologist will be a daily multi-platform content producer, serving audiences on streaming, social media, and TV. WOWT is looking for a candidate who will make a positive contribution in the newsroom and community.

Duties/Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

• Analyze weather data and prepare detailed forecasts
• Prepare graphics to support the weather presentation
• Flexible schedule for severe weather & winter weather scenarios
• Work closely with news management in designing presentation style and editorial content for weather presentations
• Developing and reporting weather stories
