Job Summary

Working directly with Intensivists to provide care to a specific patient population within the guidelines of written protocols. Will be performing critical care procedures such as, but not limited to, intubation, arterial lines/central line insertion, chest tube placement and therapeutic bronchoscopy.

Accountabilities

Patient evaluation: Assess patients by performing medical history and physical examination, including the medical, nursing, functional and financial conditions. Document all assessments in the patient medical record as appropriate.

Ordering of tests: Order appropriate laboratory tests, x-rays, EKGs and diagnostic procedures based on assessment and follow-up as appropriate.

Write Prescriptions and Orders: Write prescriptions/physician order under jointly developed protocols and practice guidelines.
