Nursing Supervisor-Nursing Operations

Job Description

This role is a middle management position for supervisory coverage of the Nursing Department, other patient care areas, and the hospital in general. It is usually 24/7 coverage and requires knowledge of hospital and nursing policies and procedures to enable independent judgment in their interpretation. The role assists with the coordination of patient flow, patient placement, staff allocation, and other patient services through collaboration with administrative/supervisory staff, physicians, charge nurses, and ancillary support staff across all hospital departments.

Responsibilities

• Manages and supervises nursing team after hours to create and maintain a high level of safe practice.
• Represents/acts as admin on‑call liaison with nursing departments’ directions in their absence while maintaining a positive business practice in compliance with established policies and standards of the organization.
